Today we walked over to the Chapel at Elmwood. We saw some friends we haven't seen in a while - and then Jeanine walked over to see our house. So happy to have caught up a little with her. I have to say I was blown away at the casual-ness of the church service. Everyone in leadership was in jeans. The message, seemed more like house keeping then a message, I felt like I was at a casual meeting, not church. People were sleeping, eating their breakfast and drinking coffee in their chairs. No one around us was singing, I felt so out of place, and lost. I thought it would be good to go, but if anything both Tyler and I are reminded how much we love our own church, and why we are there. Ty especially had a hard time wrapping his brain around what they were talking about and making sense of it. Well praise God for meeting people where they are at - and for bringing them to where they are going to be. And I need to remind myself not to judge so harshly....

We have had some amazing weather for the 4th of July weekend. Beautiful sun, warmth and fun! Here are some pictures from the boat yesterday. Lynda is quite the gymnast isn't she? We had a lot of fun yesterday. It's rare I get to play with my friends like we're kids, without any kids around. This pic is Lynda on top, MaryBeth on the left, Brian in the middle, and Brad on the right side. Aren't they funny?
Whoops - stay on the raft guys!
Here is an action shot of them on the tube being pulled by the boat!
I'm not sure what to call this, but Jim was working on a knot and his hands looked strong, weathered and worn here, and I wanted to capture the moment.
Here is Mary Beth and Me. Yeah I'm wearing an old lady hat, but lets face it - Being burned is just NO FUN anymore.... I'd rather have the hat, then the burn.
We had a great time. I took like 70 pictures, probably won't get them all printed, but it was a good time. I am so thankful for friends who encourage me to slow down and take in life with enjoyment. I forget sometimes it's not a rat race to the end. After the boat, everyone came to my house for a movie and pizza. Only we really couldn't get it together what movie we wanted to watch. The guys wanted to watch Die Hard (????) and I didn't. We compromised with National Lampoons European vacation, but no one was really into that one either.
