The snow is gone, completely. My mom & her Husband came up for a whirlwind weekend visit. Christmas is finished. Gas prices are falling to rediculous levels I never thought we'd see again, a New Year is coming quickly. And... My dad died.
Yes, it's been quite the week hasn't it? I found out about my dad last Tuesday. I guess my uncles thought I'd already been told by... someone? My dad was sick, but never really let on how sick he was. He died at age 53 of Kidney failure, and as far as I know, never did come to know the Lord. It's been sad for me. I haven't seen him in close to 20yrs, ALMOST saw him this summer but didn't make it enough of a priority and so I missed the opportunity. Who knew then, that it wouldn't come again? As I told my uncle, never put off for tomorrow, what you can do today. I'm making plans to attend the memorial service in Indianapolis on the 10th of January. I don't know yet if I will fly, or drive.
The visit with Mom and Doug went well, but it was over before I realized it had pretty much started. My sisters were over Friday night to do "Christmas" exchanging, with their kiddos, and then Saturday we drove out to Kelly's Country Store and Niagara Falls. Weather was good, a bit soggy but warm and we got some great video... my mom is so funny! Saturday night mom & doug went to my sisters for dinner, and I went to my friend Lisa's house. Sunday morning Church, and then back to Homer mom & doug went. So it was quick and fast.
Now I'm back to work and it's been a bit hard to concentrate... but I'll get there. I have a huge to - do list today and so we'll see if I get it done...
Bless all of you - you've been great support to me this last week. Thank you!

I am so sorry for your loss! You are so right in never putting off for tomorrow what you can do today. We all should live life as though we may not have a tomorrow with the ones we love.
Regardless of how you travel, have a safe and uneventful trip. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I finally found your blog again! I lost all my favorites, and came across a link on someone else's blog.
As for the books, I haven't read them. Mostly because I am not into vampires or anything scary.
I might be 33 years old, but stuff like that gives me nightmares. No Joke. I am more a Marley and Me or Dewey!
