You guys will forgive me if I don't blog on the weekends right? Especially if it's because I'm just too stinkin busy living life? Yeah, I knew you were all cool like that. All four of you that read this anyway :)
Even though my boy was away for the weekend I had a lot going on. Saturday and Sunday I spent the majority of the days working on my special project, which I hinted at a few weeks ago, but haven't posted yet. Don't worry it's almost ready. Hopefully by this weekend. It's going a bit longer than I'd hoped for but, then, most projects do with me!
I figured I'd give you a little teaser anyway :) See the picture? Well the back is part of my kitchen table. I've completely redone it and LOVE the new color. But, this is all you get, you'll just have to wait until it's complete for the "rest of the story" - as they always say. (who is "they" anyway?)

The other thing in the picture is a twin headboard frame. Yes, I did actually go buy a piece of furniture. But you'll understand in a minute!
We have this plain, boring twin bed in our spare bedroom. The room itself is boring, and painted pink. Which is hard to get over, now that I want to sell the house, but repainting is NOT an option! So this plain bed has been begging for some 'inspiration'. And while browsing Craigs list I stumbled across this beauty. It was listed in the ad as $30. I really liked the spindles on the top, but felt like $30 was more than I wanted to pay for a bed frame, when we are moving. So this was August 8th. And I kept going back, and looking to see if anything caught my eye. Nope nothing, but this little gem was still there. And I hemmed, and I Hawed, and I thought Gosh would this look lovely with a fresh coat of that Annie Sloan paint you picked up last weekend. And I still hemmed and hawed.
Well today, I finally emailed the gal and said "Is it still available and would you take $20" - and her answer was YES it was and YES she would! So I got this beautiful little headboard for $20 and figured I'd share with you the lovely before picture. I'm hoping to get this done this weekend, since it's a simple project, but well, I've already commited to picking up our new exchange student from Saudi Arabia, two picnics/bonfires AND a garage sale.

So I got this beautiful little headboard for $20 and figured I'd share with you the lovely before picture.
