Confessions of a Christmas "Hoarder"

I admit it.

I'm a hoarder.

HOARD [hawrd, hohrd]

noun 1. a supply or accumulation that is hidden or carefully guarded for preservation, future use, etc.: a vast hoard of silver.

verb (used with object)
2. to accumulate for preservation, future use, etc., in a hidden or carefully guarded place: to hoard food during a shortage.

Have you seen my Pinterest?
I have over 5,000 pins. 58 boards. 15 of those are just for food.

I'm following 258 people.

Thank God it isn't taking up space in my house. Not like "this" is.

"This" blurry pic is from my Stash Cabinet.

You see, we are selling our house and mail, papers, receipts, booklets - they seem to multiply like bunnies. And when people are coming - I need to "STASH" it somewhere so that I don't have to deal with it right at that moment.

um. Maybe I forgot to get back to it.

Or maybe I'm ignoring it.

yeah that sounds much better!

So last night, my son, called me a Christmas Hoarder.

I love Christmas, but I hardly consider myself a Christmas hoarder. I have about 5 or 6 large rubbermaid totes of Christmas stuff. It never seems like enough. I know friends with 20 or even 30 bins of Christmas totes.

Now, to be fair, I do have two Pinterest Boards for Christmas. One is just "Christmas" it has 474 pins on it, and the other is "Christmas Cookies" and it only has 18 pins on it. That's not so bad right?

Well last year, when we packed up all the Christmas stuff, I packed it for moving since I was certain we would be well on our way to Colorado by now. But we aren't and so I'm in a dilemma. Unpack everything to display and then repack again? or Leave it and buy/make a minimal amount of new stuff to display this year and then pack that up to move? Or, don't decorate at all?

Well.

Not decorating at all is NOT an option. So here I am happily "Pinning" away all my "Ideas" for Christmas decorating the DIY way :)

Would you all like to see my "Ideas" to make our DIY Christmas a hit? Sure I'll share some with you.

First - I'm going to learn to Decorate cookies like a pro! Here is in Pinspiration :) I even bought a candy cane cookie cutter. That's as far as I got, but hey a girl can dream right?

Second - I'm going to sew (wait... sew? I don't even own a machine!) some cute little birdie

ornaments for all my friends Christmas Trees!

Third - How about my own personalized stationary style Gift wrapping? Sure I can handle this one - some old Christmas Ribbon (um... isn't that packed away???) and a cute monogram cut from cool books and aged with stamp ink! YES I can do this... (might have to buy more ribbon)
Fourth - Maybe I'll even get organized enough to actually DO some of these fabulous ideas :) Heck this lady makes it super easy - you just download, print and put in a cute Christmas Binder.

I can do that? Maybe?
That is bound to keep me from standing in the local Craft store for 3 hours paralyzed in fear.

I mean, I'll have a plan.... Right?

Five - I am totally in love with Snowmen and I think, I really need to make a few of these. Easy and not really time consuming. I guess I just need a saw. (another item for the shopping list!)

well call me ambitious, or call me a dreamer, I'm not sure... What are your DIY Holiday plans this season? How are you saving your family money and still making the corners of your home cute?

what is your best "Pinspiration"?
