it's late I know...

but I was hangin out w/mom. Ya know... when I was a kid i just didn't appreciate my mom. Of course she wasn't then, the woman she is now either. I'm proud of how far she's come. But that is a story for another day.

In 18 minutes I turn 31. I'm not really trying to stay up till midnight to see if I feel old at the turn of the clock, but I've been spending some late nights so now, going to bed feels weird. But that's ok. I was downstairs w/mom and she gave me my Bday present early. It's a really nice handpainted snowman popcorn bowl. (Stoneware) She knows I love my stoneware and love having matching things. Well a couple months ago my friend Pam had an awesome stoneware party where we went and decorated our own stoneware. I painted a snowman couple on a blue platter. My mom, after spending the weekend w/Doug in the Adirondacks found a similar bowl in one of the country stores down there and bought it for me to match my platter. They look cute together. It's really cool. It'll be great to have for my annual Christmas Party on the 10th that I have for my friends.

Raj called. Haven't heard from him in like a year. He calls me every year around my birthday. At first I was shocked he remembered but then he told me he's got it programmed in his palm pilot so he doesn't have to remember it has a little alarm thingie that goes off and reminds him to call me. I'm like you could call more than once a year you know? Well we had a nice 15 minute chat and that was that. Nice guy & all but definitely slow on the communication front.

I tried something new for dinner. Ya know sometimes I think we get in a rut of serving the same meals, and same type of meals over and over and over and it gets boring. So tonight I took a can of cream of Chicken soup, about 4oz of sour cream, a bunch of paprika, some garlic powder, salt & Pepper and combined it all. Poured it over chicken breast and then topped it with Italian seasoned bread crumbs and baked for one hour. It was really delish and everyone liked it - including picky Tyler who eats nothing if it doesn't come out of a box, or from takeout! LOL

k so 10 minutes till my Bday. Boy. Do I have a prayer for this year? Yeah.

Dear Lord please help mold me and transform me to be more like you this coming year. Let it be a year of renewed hope in you and increase my desire to really get to know you more. Help me to have a teachable heart and remind me every day of the great and glorious sacrifice you've made for me. Create in me the mother and daughter you chose me to be and help me to lean on you for everything. I want to please you Lord and I'm so thankful and grateful for the good good things you've given to me. I can't imagine a life not spent serving you. Thank you Lord for your kindness, your grace your mercy and your kingdom that you've given to me. it leaves me breathless....
