la la, la la la la... la la, la la la la.
Do you remember that song by the Mama's & the Papa's? I'm prob too young to 'remember it...lol but that's what today feels like. We're seeing some snow, but it's mostly blowing around and it doesn't look like the sticking kind right now. That's fine. After what NYC got, lol I don't want any of that. We've had a nice, mild winter and I don't want to be getting anything crazy mid-Feb when we're past the long haul and on our way to spring!
This weekend went well. Lots to do, lots of people to see...and plenty of shopping! I gotta stop shopping so much. Shopping is bad...lol but it FEELS so good!
We went to some fellow church member's house on Fri night and played games and hung out. It was a nice time. Saturday we hung out most of the day till Ty's basketball game at 3, they lost 20-38. (such a sad sad season for them. Well as he says "This isn't my main sport" - and as much as I hate to say it - it shows)
Then we went over to my customers house but she forgot it was Saturday meeting instead of Sunday, and wasn't home - we left a note - which she got Sunday...lol what a mixup. Anywho - I checked out Kohl's for the first time and I'm just not sure what the big FUSS is about. I mean seriously - I got a good deal on some knives that were marked down from $40 to $23.50 and then an extra 33% off which I think I paid just over $15 for them, but other than that.... nothing really great about the place. The jeans were as expensive as the mall, unless there is some secret markdown that you get to find out about when you hit the register but who knows!
I dunno - I guess I'll have to bring a dedicated Kohl's shopper with me next time.
We went to dinner at Zebb's - yum. Best burgers around I'm tellin YOU - and then off to walmart. Of course the first walmart didn't have the closet I was looking for, BUT I did still spend like $75...lol figures. And then I went to the 2nd walmart, where they DID have the linen closet I was looking for, and spent another like $80. YIKES, and this is after going to the Home and garden party, and spending $40 there, and tupperware the week before and spending $40 there... and of course my little clothing shopping spree last weekend.... Boy I think I'm rollin in the dough don't I?
Good thing I serve the most high and his bank account is never ending! (NO I'm not advocating poor stewardship - just saying My needs are met & exceeded thank God)
Yesterday's service was really good. pastor preached on Joy, having enough, and stop the stress and worrying in life. Showed us very good examples of the peace of God, and HIS joy and how if we are following him we have nothing to worry about. Got myself into a spiritual laughing fit that was fantastic. It was great! I love when God fills you with his joy overflowing and no matter what circumstances look like - you know that HE is there thru them all.
Tyler had a hockey game - they won 3-1 (almost a shut out with 4 minutes to go and the other team scores) - well that sure made up for Saturday's Basketball fiasco. I give him credit though - he is out there, willing to give it his all. He's been watching olympics non stop for the past couple days. I think this is the first time he's ever been into it. I'm glad. give him some pride in his country - he is watching closely how the american's do!
And back to the daily grind today. He's off school for parent' teacher conferences - which reminds me - gotta call the school & find out when I can go in. I called him around 12 to check in on him and give him his 'list' of chores for the day - he's been lounging on the couch since 8:30am! And he says "I'm tired" i said of course you are- you havent' done anything -your body is in shock!
So I told him, dishes, laundry, clean your room (I'm seriously thinking of switching his messy room with the computer room (the hottest room in the house) and sweep the back stairs. Called him at 2 - and the only thing he'd supposedly done is sweep the back stairs and make himself some breakfast/lunch! JEESH. Kids. lol
Well if it ain't done when I get home.... we'll be working this out! He'll spend the rest of the night on chores! Oh and for that whole computer thingie that happened the other day? Welll... one week off the computer, and an apology to the girl who he swore at. And then I'll drop it. but he knows now that I'm watchin! And who wants momma watchin THAT close anyway???
