aaah.... back to work.

Did you ever take a mini vacation and realize it was more work than you normally do... in a workday?

We had a great Thanksgiving. My mom, Doug, my sister Shana, my brother Meech, my mom's friend from work Nancy, and the kiddo's were here. My youngest sister Kyrie opted out of dinner w/the family this year, in favour of her own feast at her place w/her boyfriend. We missed her, but she's a grownup and can make her own choices, hopefully she won't be so mean at Christmas time!

We dined a on lovely feast of Abundant Turkey, Italian potato's (mom's secret recipe), Mashed potatos, stuffing, gravy, homemade cranberry sauce, Dougs famous squash ( I refused to eat it -sorry man, not into squash), Nancy's broccoli casserole (I didn't eat that either), lots of breads, and several yummy pies. Peach, Apple, and double layer pumpkin (great recipe from Kraftfoods.com). Tyler ate 4 pcs of peach pie Thursday night alone! Gosh that boy can eat!

It's been a hectic few days that's for sure. I got some more christmas presents - Tyler, & my mom mostly. I'll post Tylers, but mom might read the blog and I can't have her knowin what she's getting ya know? I got a great deal on an electric shaver for Ty, as well as some new PJ's. That's not all he's got comin, but it's close.

Friday Shana came over, we did leftovers for lunch but ordered pizza for dinner. THat was a fiasco. We ordered double cheese but got Cheese & Pepperoni. Shana & I are NOT fans of the pepperoni's. Soooo we called but Mineo's said we ordered Pepperoni. No, we didn't - your guy wrote it down wrong. We ordered double cheese. So an hour later - our RIGHT pizza showed up w/a very ornery driver. Oh well... at least we got what we ordered.

Ah the good news. I'll post pics soon - but we got the dining room painted! I am sooo happy. I've been trying to get to it since September. I have to call my friend Cathy and let her know. She's been asking me about it since she helped me pic out the paint...lol Oh well it's finally done. Soo today I had Tyler bring down all the christmas stuff, and we put up the tree. It looks awesome. Yay. I just wish I'd remembered that we needed more lights BEFORE we decorated it. Oh well - note to self for next year. MORE LIGHTS!

Ty had a hockey game against Caz and we won - 5-3. It was an intense game. The kids are definitely doing good - they are like 5 wins -2 losses right now, or something close. That really boosts their confidence. Of course, the other teams freak in like the 2nd period and start getting aggressive. that's ok though - bantam's can take it and Tyler of course is so big he just skates right thru them. I think he likes knocking the other players down. Ugh. This morning Peter Sisson's dad picked him up for practice at like 6am. I was so tired when they called for Tyler. I still am. But Ty had a great time, and he's sure going to sleep great tonight!

Tomorrow is back to the daily grind. I'm sort of looking forward to it. We also have parent/teacher conferences so I get a real good picture of how exactly he's doing in school. We'll see if there was improvement in the 2nd half of the quarter or not. Five week reports weren't all that favourable but he said he got himself together. We'll see tomorrow!
