Motivate Monday # 1

Good Monday morning! Oh I 'm sooo excited to share with you this new 'feature' on my blog - "Motivate Mondays" :)

What is Motivate Monday?

Well it's my opportunity to share with you some FABULOUS sister bloggers and the great things that they are sharing on their sites. You see I subscribe to many blogs, and see so much inspiration.

My Favorite Blogs List

Every morning I grab some coffee, and browse through many of these great sites, and I learn so much, from painting to crochet to cooking to raising kids and encouragement in my faith. I'm so thankful to have all of these great women to learn and grow from.

It occurred to me that perhaps I should share some of it with you! So here we go.

Every Monday I will post links to my 7 favorite blog posts from the last week. I will also post a Motivate Monday Link Party for you, my readers to share your own projects or motivation. Anything goes!

These are the Party Rules. Remember to play fair :) We just want to have a little fun!

a.) Share a maximum of (2) motivate projects for each Link Party
b.) Only share NEW Motivate projects for each Link Party (please do not share the same projects every week)
c.) Only share your own projects, from your own blogs. Please do not link back to someone else's blog.
d.) Link directly to the post of the new motivate project. Please do not link back to your Blog's home page.
e.) Go back to your Motivate Project link and link back to my Party Link

Ok! On to the Motivation!

My first motivation was actually found on Pinterest.

I love love love the awesome Typography of the chalkboard variety and I am loving the idea that I can do this in PhotoShop, or PhotoBucket, Or Gimp, or any number of other Photo Editors out there. (Confession? Yes I need to learn Photoshop, as evidenced by my severely lacking in quality pictures I continually post here!)

The Blog is Foolish Fire and the project can be found here - so have a lot of fun with this and don't forget to share what you've learned in next weeks link party!

Holiday Dough via Heart and Soul Scrappers

Yes, Yes I know it's way too early to be thinking  Christmas. Especially since I am not ready at all to say goodbye to my non-existent summer. I keep thinking there will be time to redeem myself and get to the beach, or the river, or an amusement park or a picnic, or well, anything, to remind myself that it is, indeed summer.

I might be behind the 8 ball on this one.

I'll get back to you and let you know.

In the meantime - while on Pinterest this morning, I found a fantastic little idea for Christmas! How FUN is this idea from Heart and Soul Scrappers? Holiday Dough. (ok I also admit, as a former CTMH consultant, I am not surprised at all at her creativity level!)
Anyway - hop on over to her blog for the "rest of the story" and you betcha I'll be having a little fun with this come this Christmas for my (4) nephews who never want anything BUT money! LOL

Enjoy and let her know I sent ya!

Heart and Soul Scrappers: Holiday Dough!!!: I got this cute little gift idea from a fellow CTMH consultant ( Terrie Dodd ).  I typed the poem on my computer, inserted a gingerbread man...

My Cottage Charm: How to paint a dresser

So I'm learning how to link up to other blogs, and I stumbled across this one today, which I'm SO excited about! This girl, Missy, from the Blog "My Cottage Charm" is the original maker of the highly popular "BATH" sign that I pinned weeks and weeks ago, as inspiration to do for my downstairs bathroom.

Well because of the Mini Roll Top Desk I discovered last night, I was looking for some painting inspiration, especially for some 'beat up' pieces that had been recovered, and beautifully repurposed. I just LOVE what Missy did with this dresser. I mean seriously it takes a keen eye to see the potential in pieces like my desk, and her dresser. But, a little creative ingenuity and you can make it happen!
So click below and check out Missy's blog post about her new Laundry room addition. Break out the bleach and the paint and have a blast!

10 *Rules* or Guidelines for Blogging

Ah well from my previous Yeast Rolls post, you may or may NOT know that I'm an avid Pioneer Woman fan. I fancy myself some sort of Yankee midwest southern country cook - misplaced in the Great White North of the USA. My momma always said that a.) I should have been an only child, and b.) I was definitely born in the wrong part of the country! LOL I guess some would say that makes me a 'Wanna be' southern belle... but whatever!

I don't have cable TV so I can't watch the Pioneer Woman's Food Network show BUT I do follow her recipes, and of course, her blog :)   Which is fun to read because she has such an easy going, natural style to writing :) People are definitely perfect on the web... lol and she's no exception!

So Here are the Pioneer Woman's 10 Rules for blogging and I whole heartedly agree. So rather than retype them in my own words - here's the link directly to the Pioneer Woman :)

Enjoy!

Pressing on, and pressing in...

Philippians 3:14
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Right now is a serious time of pressing in. God has me in a place where I must heavily rely on all that He has called me to, and all that He has instructed me to. It's tough at times, but then I consider my flesh so weak, and spoiled. I want instant gratification without the work and sacrifice. Is that really what a 'warrior' should look like? No. It is not. So I press on toward the goal, and I will win the prize, and I will move Heavenward, here on earth, in Christ Jesus. I will see this through to fruition.

I wonder what 6 months or a year from now will look like? I am excited for it, and I know it will be good! But in the meantime, I press on. I call those things that be not, as though they were (Hebrews 11:8). I shut down outside voices telling me this is crazy, they couldn't do it, and that I should have a plan before I just go. I shut them down, and shut them up. Including the ones in my own head. I answer with the word of God. (Romans 4)

Super quick!

I'm down 1.6lbs this week - not quite the 2lbs I wanted, but close enough to make me happy! That brings my total weight loss to 12.8lbs - and almost to goal for December. This week I will really have to hustle as I need a 2.2lb loss to hit my 15lb mark by Christmas (or New years). Then I have another 5lbs to lose before Ty's birthday which is end of January. I'm very proud of my progress. I honestly didn't think Weight Watchers would work for me but so far, so good :)

Can I piggy back onto

A fellow CTMH Sistah's Countdown to Christmas? Oh my gosh I totally have to. Those Snowbabies I made last year? Got them from Rachelle's website - and well, as you can see my Ink Boutique owning friend has done it again! Her candy cane Christmas is to die for... and for those of you attending my Christmas party this year - you just might see my own version of these popping up on a table near you - very soon!

Enjoy!

I added a link under my "Talent Talent Talent" box - called the Sprague Lab. I found this on Erin Grotegut's Inky Smiles blogspace. Anyway while cruising around - I found that the Sprague Lab has some amazing photo tips. She calls it "Photo ShaBAZ" or something like that. I'm going to go right into work and make them put Photoshop on my computer so I can try it. Yeah that's the great thing about working for a technology company. We pretty much have everything we need right at our fingertips! LOVE it!

Hope you have a fabulous day. Stay hydrated in this summer heat - we're going to hit the mid 90's today. I'm so glad we are spending tomorrow on the boat and at the beach - seriously. Sun screen and jet ski's what a great combination! Will have lots of pics to post - and for those of you that get your pics printed - Winkflash has extended it's July sale to the end of the month. 6 cent prints - just use code JUNE256 in your order to take advantage of it!

Happy day!
