Coconut Pineapple Cake; Jasey's Crazy Daisy

I think the beauty of Pinterest is the ability to stumble upon things you normally wouldn't find, simply because you wouldn't ever have looked in a place you didn't know existed.  Tonight, I'm making this fabulous cake for dinner guests I'm having over. It's cooling in the fridge, and I'll do the frosting later this evening, but man the whole house smells fantastic.

If you're looking for that last end of summer fabulousness (or, for my gal pal's from down under, a new take on Spring Entertaining ) to share with friends - I recommend this yummy, yummy cake from Jasey :)

enjoy!
~ Kisha

Jasey's Crazy Daisy: Coconut Pineapple Cake:
One of my grandfather's favorites, it's a tender coconut cake, dotted with just the right amount of coconut and pineapple, soaked with a slightly sweet creamy pineapple coconut glaze for moistness, and frosted with real sweetened whipped cream. Not only do I love it's flavors, I love how versatile it is. As a layer cake, it is impressive, however, for less formal occasions, I simply bake it in a 9x13 cake pan, and call it good. Still pretty and oh-so-yummy, but without all the fuss.

Whatcha been up to?

Well I can tell you what I've been up to! Goodness life is so busy! It's a miracle I get any sleep, ever! :)

So lately, the focus has been on removing the 'extra' or added things in my life as we prepare to move forward with things and the big changes coming up. I know that I really need to get the house on the market, so I've been focusing on de-cluttering, packing and cleaning up. A lot of that had to wait till Nuth went home to Thailand. Which he has now. Actually that was a hard day. I hate "goodbye" day.
This isn't the best pic of us, but it's the last one so I'm posting it. It was soo windy on Good bye day! Anyway it took Nuth 3 1/2 days to get home. I couldn't believe it. He finally arrived in Thailand last Thursday night (Our time) but it's 13hrs ahead in Thailand, so he actually arrived Friday morning. And then his dad promptly took him to school. Crazy! Poor kid! LOL No breaks anywhere BUT America! Welcome to the land of the entitled...lol

Last week I got the priviledge to help Pastor's Joel & Amy put together a ministers luncheon for Dr. & Nancy Dufresne and all the ministers that were here in the NY area for their meetings. That is such a blessing. It was a great day, and Pastor Amy recruited some GREAT help from the Family Churches (Fredonia & Jamestown) to help with serving and caring for our guests. Oh man what a blessing those Ladies were! IF they ever read this blog, then I want to say a big FAT thank you! You were the BEST!

What else has been going on? lets see, this weekend I was at all 3 services, in the sound booth which is always a ton of fun. Don, the new guy who's doing sound is also an electrician and has offered to get my new Chandelier up in the hallway. He's coming over Thursday to do that. Thank you GOD for that blessing! Omygoodness! So many silly projects going on that I'm not capable of doing, it's great to have help :)

And what else? Well, Tye has now picked up Two jobs. He'll be interning at our church this summer for the youth summer camp, and he's at the local pet store. Which is great, cause he's got some student loans to pay back before we move. And, he's super motivated to have his own car. Can't blame him there! Sharing hasn't been too tough of an issue yet, but I can see it becoming more challenging!
and... OH! This weekend we went down to see our family in Binghamton because of my Uncle Bob's 75th birthday! Wow 75! He's so spry and sharp, you'd never know he was that old, well except several of his kids are in their 40's and 50's... which to me, even at 37, still feels so much OLDER than I am. Oy... the joys of being a young mom. I feel like I haven't aged much since I was 20 :)
Well but I am much more mature....

Ok, so what's next? um... Jim and Jill Kelly are coming to our church to share their testimony and talk about what's in their new book. Interesting huh? I won't be there, cause I'm singing that day at another church, but praise God I hope lots of people come to hear what they have to say.

And I guess the last thing is that on Sunday, my dear friend Julie and her boyfriend Paul threw me the nicest party ever. I was floored by the love and care and the cards, and sweet things everyone said and I was so grateful for their prayers and love and support. God is just so good. I'll be heartbroken to say goodbye to them, but as Paul so aptly put it- they will always be a part of my "God" story.

So that's it for now - I'll update more soon! :)

Be Blessed! Oh and here's a video just for fun!!! one of my fav worship songs!

Fun!

So, tomorrow is Tye's birthday. He'll be 20. It doesn't even feel like that much time could have possibly passed since I first held him in my arms. Now, at 6' tall, 213lbs - he holds me when we hug :)

Since tomorrow is his Birthday, I'll wait to tomorrow to actually post his "birthday" pic... but for now, you can see what we're doing.

Tye is an "after school" counselor at the local YMCA, and of course, being super cool, and super fun, is one of the 'favorite' counselors.

Yesterday he said Mom? what are you doing tomorrow? oh... not much... being unemployed right now...lol He said, how do you feel about baking cupcakes for the Y? hahaha... um.. sure!

So, 3 boxes of cake mix, 3 cans of frosting later...we have about 75 cupcakes, one for every kid at the YMCA and maybe a few extra for some staff :)

I love being a mom - but I love being a friend just as much!

Baby Shower!

Haha - when Tye was a baby, he just LOVED his Johnny Jumper :) Now, it's so fun to pass this cute little activity on to new moms. Which is exactly what I will do today. So a big congrats to my friends Oral & Jeanine Roberts on your expected little bundle of Joy!

April 30th, 2011

The day that was so busy! Some days I can't believe all the stuff you can cram into a 10hr period ya know?

This morning I was up early for a meeting at the School who's board I sit on. We're working on Parent involvement and Community Focus projects and Saturday mornings work well for everyone apparently - but do I really need to mention that it really IS the only day I get to sleep in? Jeesh. lol

I also had a Bridal shower to go to for my good gal pal Tracy. I didn't take any pics, so sorry no updates. There were enough people there with cameras that if I want any copies of anything I'm sure I can get my hands on them. It was a great time and I got to scrapbook a page of Advice, and a recipe for her. I'll have to find a small pic of us together to add to the page later. And no, I didn't take a pic of that page either...lol but I did advise her to have lots of sex, and play lots of games. Not necessarily in that order... haha!
I did get into my garden a bit. I've been growing seedlings in the kitchen and it's about time they got into the ground, at least the ones that I know where they are going. I have some larkspur that I started growing, and didn't think about where I might put 4' delphiniums! LOL Ah well... lesson learned. Time to dig another garden!

In the meantime I have some great pics to share with you - so I hope you'll enjoy...

So first up are the tulips I planted last year. I planted 12 of them, but only the 5 in this garden are actually coming up. The others have leaves, but I doubt I'll get flowers this year. Next year is much more promising I think. And isn't this just the most peculiar "Tulip" bulb you've ever seen? LOL
Now I'm excited about this flower, because as you can see it actually has not one, not two, but THREE blooms coming in. That just thrills me!

Can someone help me out here, and remind me what the heck this is? I planted (2) of them last year, and they are coming in nice and strong, which is great - but I honestly can't remember what they are! LOL

Well I sure know what these are :) My Black Eyed susans, which are doing much better in this very sunny spot than the other set. I put these in last year, and they are coming in just great! The other set, which is in a more shady area of the yard, hasn't even sprouted leaves yet. I was hoping that it would recover this year, being it's 2nd year in the ground, but it doesn't seem to be cooperating :(

And another on the list of "can't remember what you are" is this flower. I remember being super excited when I bought them last year, and I know they are planted RIGHT next to the Pink Chinese Astilbe, but I still can't remember what it is!
And here we have the chinese Astilbe. I know it's not pink yet.... but it will be! :) At some point this summer anyway! LOL

Well the garden walk isn't quite done.... after all that's just one very small bed on the side of the deck. Grab some lemonade, there's more to show! Here's a full shot of that particular bed. Of course, everything is just coming up. And I planted (2) sunflowers towards the back which should be in full bloom by July - Pollenless hybrid so that the bees do NOT abound on my back porch...
Also planted in this bed are some Gazanias (10 of them) and (3) Nasturtium. Since they are just seedlings... and very weak, it's not worth taking pictures of them yet. I really hope they make it though!

Moving on - you may remember that over by the garage, there were literally HUNDREDS of Tiger Lillies that take over every year. They expand, and grow and are very very mean to any OTHER flowers around them. We've been diligent in getting rid of them.... and finally after 3 full years here, we're seeing progress. About 6' of the right side of the garage is now fully dug out, with the exception of the back back row, which I want to keep (I think). We're mulching and planning new beds in front of those lillies.... and hopeful it'll all work out. Since we really have NO idea what we are doing...lol
Up Next? Oh I can't wait to show you! My Lilac tree! There were actually (2) of them on this side of the fence. They were crowded and fighting and neither of them were exceptionally healthy. Actually they were both pretty sickly. Last year I decided to sacrifice one, for the health of the other, so when we got all those rains this month, and the ground was super soft, Tye helped me yank the more sickly of the two, and we got rid of it. Well a little miracle grow and some space, and the stronger one is REALLY taking off. :) Another 2 years and she's going to be quite the beauty. As you can see - she's really enjoying having a place to stick her feet in the dirt!
About 3' to the left of the lilac bush, I planted (2) Columbine plants last year. The one you see here in the foreground did bear blooms last year, but it was pretty pathetic and didn't really go anywhere. Well already the leaves are easily 4 times as big as last year, and I'm guessing that I'll have some great growth. (Hint, you can kind of see the other Columbine in the background, and the stray Tulip leaves that haven't really gone anywhere). Really excited to see these two plants take off :)
Awe... Crocus... you won't be with us much longer!

ok now on to the more serious business. And this is important, and personal. We moved in about 4 years ago... we knew when we moved in that we would seriously need a roof. Well, 4 years have passed, and I am specifically aware that THIS year, has to be the year to put the roof on. It's going to be about a 18K job because of the height of the house, the repair to some of the eaves, the replacement of the gutters and well, the front porch that is collapsing because of the bad gutters which are pouring water under the foundation of the porch.
If I came right out and said it - I'd have to admit that I've been in fear of the roof caving in due to damage from the roof not being secure, and the gutters are in such bad shape. I mean seriously - THIS can't be good right? LOL

Well truth is... God has not GIVEN me a spirit of Fear... I have to repent because instead of putting it in his hands... and trusting him to show me the solution - I've been begging and pleading and in constant fear that the house will just pretty much collapse! Yeah I'm admitting it...

So here's where you all come in - will you all believe with me for the Roof? I have the new shingle sample on the back porch - Every time I walk out that back door I thank Him for the new roof - and everything that is needed with it. Just add it to your prayer list if you feel led. Thank him for giving me wisdom and showing me the doors as they open, and for giving me a spirit of Peace, Love and A SOUND Mind about the situation! :) This house is a BLESSING!

Aren't ya'll awesome friends? Thanks for taking the walk around with me.... and helping me stand in faith for the thing that God has given me.

And the HASTAS have arrived!

Gosh I'm so happy. These little buggers were NOT here yesterday when I was watering and taking pictures of stuff - But today? here they are! Happy as can be - ALL FOUR of them! Since it's so tiny yet, the pics aren't coming out great - but give it a couple of days, and it'll be awesome. I'll definitely repost when they start coming in fuller! :)
For now, it's off to take Tye to volleyball, and then I'm goin to see my friend Lisa for a little while :)

day 2

Was incredibly eventful.... Shiori had MANY firsts... First gardening with mom, first grocery store, first clothing store.... first American Picnic, first Jet Ski ride, first boat ride, and first game night... Probably more than she should have done in a given day... but what a trooper. She did start falling asleep on the way home and headed straight to bed.

This is Tracy's cousin Kara, with Tye & Shiori at Beaver Island marina

Tye & Shiori at the picnic :) He's really being awesome and helping her out.
lastly - Tye takes Shiori out on the jet ski. Awesome time! She loved every minute of it :)

G'nite all!

Havin a BLAST at KB!

It was a great day yesterday at Kingdom Bound. Tye, Lisa & Sam and I drove out and got there around 12 or so. Tye & Sam immediately went off to their own little world so then Lisa & I hit the vendor tent. That place is awesome. There's all sorts of things there to look at and buy. Music, books, tshirts, DVD's... jewelry. YOu name it they got it.

Soooo many already know that I sponsor a sweet little girl from Peru named Ines thru Compassion International. It is a fabulous organization who take care of kids all over the world in impoverished nations and help them get their medicine, immunizations, food, clothes, school and then the message of Jesus every day. I love it. Well we've been sponsoring Ines for quite some time - I want to say about 3 yrs at this point. Yesterday at the vendor Tent, Compassion had their tables set up and Lisa & I were browsing the little faces... and I came across a young lady who had the same birthday as me, same birth year as Tyler. She'll be 17 this year.

Now let me say this. A 17yr old who is on the table for sponsorship means that she has been sponsored in the past. It means that whomever was sponsoring her, can no longer keep their financial commitment to take care of her. However, Compassion has pledged to that young girl that she will always have a home at the Compassion center in her village, or town. It also means that she will only be eligible for sponsorship for 1-3yrs. I don't remember her name, but she was precious. Tall, beautiful and wearing a silver cross around her neck. She was also from an area that is ravaged by HIV/AIDS infected population. She didn't live with her parents either.

She has been on my heart all day, and all night. Now I'm really going to be putting God's word to the test when I say I'm going to sponsor her if she is still at the table on Wed. when we go back to KB. He said in his word - "God gives Seed to the Sower". I know that God is able to provide the right amount of money for me to send to this young lady, and still keep my sponsorship of Ines. I know God's economy isn't broken. I can't wait to reach out to her in my first letter. It's all very exciting.

Ok so next Lisa and I went and grabbed something to eat from the car, and hit a couple of seminars. One on what happens to Christian Kids when they leave home for college (Between the ages of 17-22). Did you know tha 72% of kids leave church? and only 20% of those that leave come back? YIKES that means for every 10 kids who are in your youth group - 5 of them will leave the church after highschool and 3 will never return. That's a huge %! Then we learned a bit about Campus life, and some of the ministries available on campus to keep this population of college kids engaged in church and Godly fellowship.

Next seminar was on modest, and appropriate dress for young people. The speaker was dynamic. She apparently is the director of pro-life ministries for the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo, and quite frankly my stereotypical idea of her was blown to shreds. She was passionate, she was articulate, she really got her message across; at least to Tye & Sam. And she kept bringin it right back home to Jesus AND she used Scripture to back up her point! I was thrilled!

hmm... we ran into some friends and then hit the concerts - Matthew West, which was awesome, and SKILLET which pretty much rocked our worlds. They have a new album coming out in 3 weeks - AWAKE - and I cannot wait for it :)

Ok till next time peeps -

Never let a madman loose with your camera...

or this is what you'll get! We had our annual Christmas Party last night and my friend Brad was using my camera all night. These are some GREAT video's and I had so much! I'm so glad everyone could make it. I'm going to try and load the video up thru Youtube, because Blogger isn't accepting them. I am not sure why :(
Anyway - it's been a good weekend but busy. I bought too much food too. There was sooo much left over last night. I'm not sure what to do with it all. I gave so much away too. I have stuffing and mashed potatos left and a little bit of pulled pork. That dish was a huge success for making it my first time. I used a Rachael Ray North Carolina recipe and it was DELISH. Only when I tasted it - it was a little too bitter so I added 1 bottle of Jack Daniels Brown sugar BBQ sauce and it was even YUMMIER! If you want the recipe let me know and I'll post it here.
Its gotten pretty warm here - it was over 45 degrees today. I love it, but I hate it because I just know the cold weather is coming and it's going to be BITTER! My family has some tough decisions to make in the coming months. We need to consolidate some bills. My car will be paid off in 2 weeks and we are cancelling our services with Verizon and Direct TV. It'll cost me $175 to cancel, but between the car payment and the verizon services we'll save $375 a month. That is going into savings and onto my credit cards. With the price of gas coming down, I am now saving about $25 a week in gas which helps a lot too since Groceries went UP and haven't come down in the past two years. Many people are feeling the pinch in the economy and I figure we need to prepare ourselves for whatever may come in the next 6 months so I'm doing some cutting back now.
This video is taking forever to load. I'm sorry about that! How bout some pictures instead? Here are some "fun" ones of me last night when Brad had the camera in my face...
So do I still look "Gaunt" mom? Nobody pay attention to the amount of mashed potato's on my plate...lol YES I did eat them ALL and they were GOOD...rofl Oh and Mary beth made the best Black forest cake for me - completely from scratch. She even marinated the cherries at home in a special liquor! It was sooo good and rich and exactly what I wanted. YUM. Yeah so I'm totally back on plan now - and will be losing another 2lbs this week. Here's hoping!

KB Day 4

Last day - *sigh* it has such a bitter sweet taste to it. I'm glad to get back to life as I know it, and I'm exhausted, so I'm really looking forward to sleeping tonight, but at the same time - it's such a cool world to be at KB immersed in what I feel like Heaven will be like with all these Christians everywhere!

Today I spent the early part of the day with Johnny & Charity - that was fun. I saw Kevin Leman who was an absolute RIOT talking about male/female relationships. He was awesome. I think I'm going to invest in a few of his books. also I think eh said something about coming back to Buffalo in late Sept so I'll have to look that up and see when so I can go see him again. In the afternoon I went over to Marybeth's camper and she made a great dinner for us. Eggplant parm, lasagna and baked rigatoni. YUM. It was very good. Then I met up with Lisa for the last of the concerts - Delirious and Newsboys. It was a fabulous day with lots more details but I am too tired to recount them all. I have no complaints whatsoever about the week - every bit of it was awesome and I'm so grateful that God is so good to me that we can go and do these things. He is awesome!

here are a few pics to share and then Off to BED!
Love you all!
Kisha

Gotta Love the dancing Feet!
And it's a group thing!
SCRUNCHY FACE!
Hey it's me :) And it's a decent pic too!

This guy named Eric something painted this in about 5 minutes to music. What a talented man. It was for Compassion International awareness. Afterwards they had the painting in their vendor tent. I love Compassion, and sponsor a little girl myself. Her name is Inez and she lives in Peru. One day I am hoping to go visit her... I hope you will visit the Compassion website and consider helping a precious little one yourself!

KB Day 3!

Well today was another eventful day. Whew am I beat. So glad to be home an entire hour earlier than the last two nights. We cut out of the Jaci Velasquez concert about 1/2 hr or so early to beat traffic, but I still had to wait for the kids to join us! Grr... kids.

So today we started out a bit late. After sleeping in longer than I wanted (8:15) and picking up Sam and Jenna, we didn't arrive at KB until around 11:15, but that was ok. We promptly put all of our stuff in lockers and hit the water parks. We hit the blue and white water slide first, which is hands down my favourite, and then the Tornado which is my 2nd favourite. I love the ride, but I'm always terrified that I will be the ONE person who goes flying out of the tube and over the edge and dies...lol even though I KNOW God isn't done with me yet here on earth, and is totally ok with my enjoying water park rides! After that we headed over to the big Kahuna which is a large red water slide which I enjoyed, but not nearly as much as the first two. Still... the 45 minute wait paled in comparison to some to some other rides! LOL

We enjoyed some extra time in the wave pool, and hook's lagoon which is quite the riot let me tell you! It's basically a bunch of 'ship wrecked' pirate ships that have been taken over by the 'lost boys' who wreak havoc and mishap on all the unfortunate souls who wander off there... buckets of water to tip on people's heads, flexible hoses to squirt people below, lots of water just about everywhere, and about every ten minutes this HUGE bucket of water that must hold easily several HUNDRED gallons of water tips and goes pouring down all over everyone standing in it's way. there are also two small water slides there that aren't really anything amazing, but fun none-the-less!

today we opted for the 'less expensive' route for lunch and had sandwiches in the parking lot with music and swedish red fishies. yeah. I know really healthy Kisha... what do you expect? It's kids for crying out loud! LOL And it's Darien lake! After that it was down to business. We had to drive to Orchard Park to help my friend Robin out of the house. She had ankle surgery 2 weeks ago and hasn't been able to do stairs since. Talk about stir crazy. She literally hasn't been out of her house the entire time because of her steps on her porch! Anyway we just needed to get her out of the house so her son could take her to the dr. So we drove from KB about 1/2 hr to East Aurora to help her, and then we drove back :)

I let the kids go off on their own after we returned. Heck they don't need me in their faces all night right? We are having a Serious issue (discovered this morning in line for the tornado) because my son does appear to have a 'hicky' on his collarbone, which he insists he got "shaving" (yeah and I have purple eyes, green fingers and was born YESTERDAY! NOT). So lets suffice it to say that I am not allowing them ANY alone time anymore and I am THRILLED that his girlfriend is going on a 2 week trip to Chicago with her grand-dad.

ok I really didnt' take many pics tonight and I don't have a lot of energy for loading them up so I'm really sorry this is wordy, and not any pics, but i will catch up I promise! Tomorrow is the last day and while I'm glad it's over - I'm also SO sad its over!

Good night all!

Kisha

KB day 2 pics

Just some quick pics to share - here are my favs for the day! Enjoy!

KB Day 2

Today was a better day at the festival. My friend Lisa & Sam joined us and Lisa stayed till about 4:30. Sam stayed the rest of the night. It was fun. I did more coasters today than I have I think the last 3 times I went to a theme park! LOL Lets see - first ride we did was the Motocoaster which is funny. It's kind of a lame roller coaster, but it's a bunch of motorcycles so it really was hysterical. Well that and all the jokes about what kind of 'rocket' it was! LOL What did we do next? The vendor tent for a little bit, Tyler split and went to hang out with his girlfriend for the day - what else? Gosh it is sooo hard to recount the whole day. I think we went and got lunch. We had subway subs, and fries which were soo good. Every year we buy a 'commemorative' cup for like $8 and then we get refills all week for $1. The problem is that this year they ran out of the normal cups we buy - won't have new ones till Wed sooo I bought the slightly smaller version and YIKES does it go down quick. I think it's only like 20 oz or so and when it's hot its easy to suck it down fast!

Sam pretty much hung out with me most of the day. We went on several coasters, the motocoaster, the viper, the predator (which HURTS), and then I did the boomerang too which was horrible, and fun all at the same time. Although I did feel like I was going to 'toss my cookies' when I was done... I was ok after a couple tylenol and sips of my lemonade. We saw the really awesome Cirque Neuvaux (sp?) - and then we ran over to see Skillet, but since KB didn't pre-think it and put them on the park stage (they are pretty big rockers) it was SOOOO PACKED. I mean not only standing room only - it was backed way up to the vendor tents which is crazy. I think that more than 1/2 the park was there! Tyler made his way up front, but didn't stay long. I got some great pics of the kids, and then Mary Beth and I headed over to see Third day. It was fabulous! OH! I forgot to mention we did stop at the Worship Tent and saw Vicky Beeching, who I am going to head right over to Myspace to add as a friend, and put one of her songs on my page. She was fabulous!

We did hit the wave pool for a while, but we didn't have our suits so we just got wet up to our shorts and then hung out there for a while. It was a long day on my feet, and I've got a bit of a blister to show for it. I'm probably going to wear sneakers tomorrow to try and baby it a bit, but heck it's been a good week so far! LOL

Now I am just catching up this post so I can download it in my head, download the pics and head off to bed. I'm watching Nashville star, and wow. I knew Shawn Mayer would go - really glad Melissa is in the final running. My poor dog. She is soo lonely - now she's trying to play and we need to get to bed. I think next year I am REALLY going to look into kenneling her for the 4 days so that she can get her play time and all that and I don't have to feel sooo guilty coming home at 1am and then getting up and leaving at 9am again!

Until next time!

Kingdom Bound here we come!

DANGIT! Oh I hate when I do that! I tried to select all my text and REMOVED my entire post! GRRR! Oh I hate it! We are going to be coming and going for the next few days to Kingdom Bound. It's a 4 day Christian Music Festival held every year at Darien Lake. I'm hoping to see Big Daddy Weave, Skillet and Newsboys. As we speak, Rebecca St. James is performing in Binghamton today - but I'm sad that she's not coming to KB this year.

In the meantime what the heck has been going on the last couple days? Well... lets see. Friday was REDICULOUS trying to get out of work. I mean crazy nuts. There are so many teeny details to share that I will drive myself crazy just thinking about what the heck Friday looked like sooo I'm not even going to bother re-typing it however lets just say that I should have been on the river at 6pm where my friends graciously invited me on the boat, and I didn't get there till almost 9!?!!!! They were sooo sweet to come back to the marina and get me but still!

Saturday I worked from 9-3pm. We have gotten funding to run a Digital Camera Class for 60 inner city kids. It's really just an intro to using cameras and then they go on field trips to take pictures. Then next saturday we will be teaching them to download their pics to the computer to then upload to Photobucket and finally to make a Blogger account that they will share all their favourite pics. Once the project is finalized - I'll share the blog with you all to see :) Please check it out as it'll just tickle them pink that they have visitors from all over viewing it!

What else? When I got home Tyler and I kicked butt and cleaned the downstairs of the house. It needed it. I still have to dust the furniture in the living room but other wise it looks really good and I'm feeling much better about being mostly gone this week without having to worry about my stank nasty dirty house! After cleaning Mary Beth called and asked if I did want to go on the boat again, so I took Malik out and oh my he actually went swimming in the lake, AND he went out on the tube! I am sooo proud of him for getting out of his control freak shell and so grateful to Brad for being so patient with him and helping him have so much fun!

Today we had church and afterwards ran over to Penney's for their 'doorbuster' sale which we missed because I ran into Bernie and Rhonda and got to see their precious new baby girl Faith. She's such a doll. So teeny! I ended up spending about $200 on Tyler for school, but he got several shirts, 4 pair of Jeans and 2 sweatshirts. So it was a good deal. I was thrilled when I saw that 2 pair of jeans he had picked out were marked down to $15.99 but then even MORE thrilled when I saw that they rang up as $8.99! YEAH! Now that's a good deal right? I Know! So that really helped take the sting out. Oh yeah I also got him another dress shirt (royal purple) and 2 purple ties. So really for $200 we made out like a bandit. All he needs are underthings and shoes and he is done.
Here are some pics from yesterday - I'm sure I'll have tons to post over the next few days :)

Super quick post

hey all - just really quick wanted to share some pics from yesterday. I bought a new camera for work and while it's still only a Kodak Easyshare - it takes amazing pics compared to the other one we have. Also, it may have helped that I spent some time developing an easy curriculum from it. I found a lot of neat settings that I didn't know existed, so I'm going to check if they are settings that exist on the other camera.

Anyway - I was really pleased with the Beach pics from yesterday and I got some really nice shots. LOVE it! :)
Enjoy!

Random things in no particular order....

Ok so it's been a busy 5 days since my last post. I've gotten a lot done, but I'm beat. So here is a photo recap of what I've been up to - in absolutely NO particular order. First - a pic of my lovely friends Marsha and Judy - who are not only beautiful Godly women - but happen to be my very bestest customers! LOL I'm in the orange. Marsha took the picture of me at the CKC crop - notice I'm not working on anything. That's because I worked all day. I used my $30 voucher to get into the crop- got a free goodie bag - worth about $40 - AND won a great book - although right now I can't remember the name of it -BUT! Didn't do anything but 1 card, which you'll see later in this post. I just needed to veg and visit with my friends. There were lots more friends there also - but I didn't get pictures of them. I know - BAD me!

Ok next up - a picture of my wonderful friends Rhonda and Bernie - who are having a baby in July - this was at Rhonda's baby shower Saturday. Aren't they wonderful? Rhonda is amazing - and Bernie is just FABULOUS - and has been a major blessing to me in my new house - (remember that vanity I had to have put it? Yeap you're looking at the handyman who did it for me!)

Ok this was totally random - but when I stopped home after CKC on Saturday before the baby shower - there was this Dove sitting in my yard. I mean it was like 6' away from me- and totally didn't care that I was standing there taking pics. Too funny.

Talk about a Milestone - Jay has underarm hair. He is so NOT like Tyler. When Tyler got underarm hair? I was NOT allowed to know about it - Jay on the other hand? Relishes the attention....rofl.. he's so funny!

Ok this wasn't from THIS weekend - this was from LAST weekend. This is my friend Jen enjoying a s'more - and the puppies? Her precious Ralphie and Ellie that she rescued from the dog pound. Would you believe they aren't quite a year yet? they are the most docile, loving, precious pooches I've ever met... so they get a "Shout" out here on my blog - and Jen gets a WAY TO GO for being such a good puppy mommy!

Ah - Tracy - the hostess with the mostest. What a blessing she is! Thanks Tracy for getting me out of the house, and out of my work routine and out hanging with friends! Love you girl!

Of course I saved the best for last. I Figured if you can hang THIS long, you deserve the grand prize... lol This is the card I made for Rhonda's baby shower. I was REALLY proud of it. I think Rhonda liked it too - hope so!
Gosh, what else - well Sat night (5/31) I had a couple friends over to play Settlers of Cataan and also Dominoes - so Crystle, Brad and Jim :) We had a nice time. Sunday was busy. Went to church, had a 'sit down' with my teenager and his girlfriend and her dad.... (FUN - NOT) and then went shopping so I could make dinner for my very good friend Lisa and her daughter Samantha. Then we watched 27 dresses which is funny and cute, but has a lot of cussing in it :(
So did you recap? In one weekend I worked, volunteered and cropped (Friday), Went to a scrapbook convention, a babyshower AND entertained at my house (Saturday), went to church, went grocery shopping and then went to visit friends, cooked dinner and watched a movie (sunday) - as that country song goes - WHAT was I thinking? No wonder my life is a whirlwind that I feel like I never slow down! LOL
That's a lot to catch up on. Otherwise - life is back to normal - working....working...working. Say a prayer for me ok? We go back to court AGAIN next monday for my nephew. Pray that I know what to say, what to do, what to agree to, and when to say he should go home...
