Guess it's time for an update. How've you all been? It's been a busy weekend. I have some things I need to take pictures of - and post, but I left my camera at the office, soooo I will have to do it another day. Saturday I got up early morning and ran off to the farmers market, and Home Depot. On my way to home Depot I passed a garage sale and saw a pair of chairs. From what I saw they were lovely - (not normally what I would consider my type at all) - and I kept driving, but as I kept going, I felt this major nibbling in my spirit saying to go back. I reasoned that if I was meant to have them they would be there after my trip to Home Depot, but I couldn't stop the nagging, so I turned back. The lady was offering the chairs for $50 a pair, but when I asked if she'd take $40 she said sure! They are beautiful victorian style antique chairs, and I love them. I was thrilled to have them for $40! I can't even believe it. They do need to be recovered, but I still don't think that would be as expensive as I'm sure they are worth. Even with the small amount of staining and (ooops) Children's writing on the underside of one cushion...they are lovely. The best part? I put them in my bedroom, but it's nuts because everytime I walk in my bedroom I feel like the Lord is sitting in one of the chairs and I can feel his presence all around me in there. I've had lots of enjoyment the past few days with my bible and talking with him in there.
Which leads me to another thing - which is that Tyler and I switched bedrooms. And we painted his new bedroom. It's a really dark, dark red/brown color. He loves it, I can't say that I like it all that much, but I don't have to live in there so it's all good for him. I will eventually switch bedrooms with the current family room, but not until I get the windows fixed, and have new carpets installed. Soo for now I'm in a tiny tiny bedroom, but I love it, it's pretty, and the Lord is waiting for me everytime I walk in there. Ok so some of you may not get that... but I don't know how else to explain it.
what else... I've canned peach, pear and strawberry jam this weekend/week too. YUM. I love homemade jam. It's just good. Here's a funny. The kitten loves to watch TV. She gets right on the cabinet and stares at the TV. Right now she just got off the chair which is facing the TV and was watching it from the back of the chair.
We've been watching the Olympics. I'm really enjoying the floor demonstrations, and the Gymnastics. Something really cool is that the girl who won Silver, is from Fredonia which is about 45 minutes from here - and that's pretty cool because I could actually like... see her at Walmart or something! ROFL!
Ah, the biggest news of all - I'm sort of going back to school. I'm a nervous wreck about it. Just one class to see how I can handle it. It's a Micro economics class... which I'm not exactly sure what it is, some sort of accounting class which I guess I could use. I just really hope the instructor is favourable and doesn't mind me missing a few classes. I'll be attending Tues/Thurs evenings until October starting next week. If it goes well and I can accomplish an A (ok a B) then I will start in the spring with two classes until I get some sort of degree, which is what I really need to do. A piece of paper that can tell people I'm qualified to do what I already do. Sort of Ironic isn't it?
Well that's it. Tye is hanging out at my brother in laws house tonight, things are quiet - I'm watching the Secret Life of an American Teenager. Alice is my FAVOURITE girl on the show, by FAR! Also I think I can watch a Netflix movie from my laptop so I'm going to try it and see if I can concentrate on it. And I have to see what's available :)
Sorry no pics, and no neat projects or anything to update, but maybe I will scrapbook Friday night? I dunno.... if I do, then I'll have pictures of projects to share! Oh one more thing - I totally won Kari's blog candy - yum. I WILL post a pic of that when I receive it :)
G'nite all!
