I'm having such a hard time organizing my thought that I can hardly believe it's been over 2 weeks since I last blogged. It's been such a busy, crazy week! I guess life has a way of just getting away from you like that. So what have I been up to? Well aside from work... in no particular order at all -
Dinner last Sunday evening, a fabulous little Potato Corn Chowder that I love making but since I'm the only one eating it... I don't make it often. Very Rich, and very filling! Homemade yeast rolls too! mmm hmmm... lemme know if you want the recipe!
On another note, for lack of a better way of saying this, I've coveted this beauty for many many years. Well not exactly this particular model, since this has color only been available for a little while.. but in general I've always wanted a Kitchen Aid, and today, seemed like as good a day as any to make the investment! I got an unbelievable deal on it, with a discount of more than $130! It's only the 4qt version, but I am ok with that, really. I mean I really do only cook mostly for me, so this was perfect for me.
and now it sits in it's new home, in the corner of my kitchen counter, ready and waiting for the first available opportunity to be used. And trust me, it didn't sit long!
Why? Because this. truly. is. the Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie. Truly.
Although I'm not as sure that it is the recipe, as much as it is the process and care taken in making the dough, and then careful attention to the baking.
BUT, when all directions are followed correctly - THIS is what you get. A fabulously chewy, moist and utterly delish cookie. Trust me, you can't go wrong with this Cookie, and all the fabulous mix in possibilities make it all the better!

And well, this (3) week ordeal, er... I mean project is FINALLY completed.
Yes. Finally Done.
Thank you God.
No Seriously, Thank YOU God.
See this stair? yeah, now multiply that by 16. 16 stairs to be plucked, and picked and sanded and primed and plucked and sanded again, and then a layer of paint on every other stair. Then a layer of paint on the opposite stairs. Dry and repeat. Ugh. I don't ever want to be involved in this process again - and i didn't even do 90 % of the work! My friend Lynda (see adorable picture of Lynda and her boyfriend Steve lower in this post) did most of it. She is the perfect picture of patience and love. Her Servant heart really just shocked me. I don't know that I've ever received such an amazing gift from anyone before. The time, effort and attention to detail that she lavished on these painting projects to help me sell my house just blew me away.

A quick pic of the Kitchen Painting process & below Lynda and Steve doing what they do best. Serving others :)
Got my hair did. Yeap. A fresh cut and color just in time for the changing seasons. You can't see it in this pic, but my hair is getting pretty long. The back lays across the top of my shoulders already. Wow. It grew fast! That Biotin and Vitamin A is really helping!
And then, the STUNNING GORGEOUS BEAUTIFUL dishes during a regularly scheduled grocery shopping trip...lol I didn't buy them - and believe me I tried to Justify it. I really did. But at $8 a plate they were just way out of my budget. I mean seriously! As beautiful as they are - to get 4 plates & 4 bowls would have cost me around $70 with tax! Come ON Wegmans. What are you thinking?
And of course, there's been family time with my boy, and my niece. Watching TV, crocheting, and just generally hanging out. This weekend my sister, niece and I took a trip to see my mom down outside of Syracuse NY and man, the colors on the trees were stunning. The drive home was just beautiful!
While we were there, we drove up to Ithaca and went shopping. Got a STEAL of a deal on an 8" Panasonic Tablet, which is sooo much fun and way more portable for reading books and carrying than my laptop. So thankful for being in the right place at the right time. The only thing is that it uses Android Technology, and being a PC/MAC girl - I'm still learning it's nuances. Give me a bit and I'll be blogging from there too! LOL
And then, there are my new cabinets from Craigslist in my office at work ;) Found these for $100 each, and they retail for over $400 a piece! NICE work Kish! That's what I say, and that's what my Bosses say! LOL
A 2nd blooming on my Columbine? Yes PLEASE! I was sure that I wouldn't see these again, ever. Well, because the landscaping guy accidently took them down to the bare root almost and it was getting so late in the season. And with selling the house, I won't be here next year when they bloom.
And there was this. Nope, not my car. Nope, not related to the poor guy either. But hey it held up traffic and was conversation worthy... Just a friendly reminder - don't go cuttin those trucks off that make wide left or right turns. Give them their space. They need it for a reason! :)
