I think I've mentioned before that 2012 has been such a year of transition. Last year, when we said goodbye to Christmas, and hello to the New Year, I honestly thought that we would have the house sold, and that we would have moved by now. Obviously, God had other plans for us, because here we are. 5 weeks on the market and very little movement yet.
Another Christmas is almost here.
Another Christmas is almost here.

Now, in the basement, we have a nice, 7' artificial tree. It's perfectly nice, and perfectly useful. Also in the basement, I have plastic bins and bins of Christmas ornaments and decorations. All perfectly nice, and perfectly useful. Also, completely packed away as if we were moving across the country.
This whole idea of unpacking everything and repacking everything was a bit overwhelming. Especially with keeping the house neat and tidy and 'show' worthy - I just couldn't pull it together.However.
I really, really, really...
no I mean REALLY, have always wanted a White Tree. They are so pretty, and they reflect the lights against the ornaments so nicely! White Christmas Trees are uncomplicated. There is no competition for the eye's attention with a White Christmas Tree.
And what a great excuse to go get a new tree then to say that all of my items were packed away, and inaccessible?
A {little} White Lie?
Maybe. But I couldn't help myself and I needed SOME kind of Justification! And so I did it. I went to Big Lots, and got a 4' Tinsel Tree with white lights. $16. I spent another $15 in ornaments and decorations. Then I hopped over to Kohl's and picked up a cute little "Mini" Santa Claus tree skirt, and a couple more ornaments.
Lastly I bopped over to Target, where I picked up a couple more ornaments.
And when I put it all together, the result was LOVELY!
A white Christmas tree, red ornaments, and I've got my "Candy Cane" Christmas tree. The one I've always wanted, and I'm a very happy Girl.

selling home...just an idea. Have someone stage your home. Pack cluttered items, etc in a pod ready to go to new home.
Three of my homes sold the day the sign went up.
Such a cute cupcake ornament! I have a white tree with red ornaments this year, too. Love the color combination! (My tree is in our piano/dining room and has a nutcracker theme.)
Ladies thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog :)
@Judy - you are right. I should do more staging for sure - we need to get this baby SOLD!
@Miss Charming - thank you for visiting! Those Cupcake ornaments were a set of (4) for $3 at Biglots. I couldn't believe my luck they are so cute! So adorable and so affordable. Who knew?
Your tree is so pretty! I love the red and white with the little cupcake ornaments! Adorable!

Oh I may have to go buy a white tree. Your tree is gorgeous!!!
Thank you for visiting my table. I appreciate all your kind words.
You asked about the glass cloches. I found them at Belk's, like Macys. They were originally $15 but they ran them half off and then an extra ten percent off with a coupon.... so about $6 a piece.
Come visit any time!!!
