Wrap up Friday

ok so just a quickie. Lots to say!

Yesterday we received two letters in the mail. The good news is that Shiori arrives next week Friday. We can pick her up in East Aurora between 4-6pm! I'm so excited! She actually leaves Japan on Wednesday, will arrive in Buffalo sometime on Thursday and will then spend the night with a 'welcoming' family, and then we will pick her up on Friday. I wonder how much sleep I will get on Thursday night...lol I can't wait to HUG her!

The other letter we received was from Ines. She is our sweet little Compassion sponsored girl in Peru. The poor thing lost her dog, when she took him out for a walk and he was run over by a car. I imagine there aren't a whole lot of leash, and driving laws where she lives. I wrote her a 2 pg letter, but the sad thing is this happened in April, and I just got her letter now, and by the time she receives it - it'll probably be december. What do you say ya know? She's in 5th grade by the way. So cute. About 2 months ago I got an 'unofficial' picture of her with all her birthday presents she bought with the birthday money we sent her. Again, we sent it in December, but she didn't get it until May. Or, maybe she didn't USE it until May. Who knows how close the "market" is to where she lives. Do you know what she bought? A blanket, a sheet, soem dishes, and shoes. Wow. What Teen in America would buy such sensible items with their birthday money? This year, I'm going to send her the money in October, hopefully it'll get there sooner to her birthday...

Well I owe more updates at some point, but for now - I have to get to work! :)
